Checking a business name in New Jersey
New Jersey requires names to be distinguishable under the applicable corporation or LLC statute and to use the required designator. Capitalization, punctuation, spacing, generic terms, and suffixes do not automatically create distinction. State acceptance does not clear trademarks, municipal trade names, professional restrictions, or marketplace rights.
