An Arkansas registered agent must be an individual resident or eligible entity with an Arkansas street address for service of process. Arkansas recognizes commercial registered agents under its Model Registered Agents Act and separately registers commercial agents for a $50.00 filing fee. The registered-agent name and office are public record; a post-office box alone is not a proper service address. The agent must reliably accept legal process and state notices.
Arkansas agent changes: forms and fees
A Notice of Change of Registered Agent is listed as no fee online and no fee by paper for Arkansas entities. The form is DO-03 and is linked from the BCS forms/fees page: https://www.sos.arkansas.gov/business-commercial-services-bcs/forms-fees. The entity or authorized filer must identify the new Arkansas agent and address and verify the change appears in the public record.
Resignation, notice, and effective dates
Arkansas uses a statutory registered-agent resignation notice. The reviewed fee tables show no fee for the ordinary Notice of Change of Registered Agent, but an agent resignation can require the entity notice and statutory effective-date procedure. The resigning agent must follow the applicable form instructions, and the entity must appoint a replacement before the resignation leaves the record without a valid agent.
Consequences of a missing agent or address
Operating without a valid Arkansas registered agent risks failed service of process, default judgments, missed tax and SOS notices, administrative revocation or dissolution, and loss of the practical protection of an active entity record. The SOS may use statutory service mechanisms in limited circumstances, but those do not excuse the entity's duty to maintain an Arkansas agent and office.

Keep the accepted filing and confirm the agent or service address shown for the business. Arrange forwarding of legal notices during the change, and check which contact information will be public before supplying a home address.
